Work Days of the RoleThis role is for 22.5 hours per week including teaching commitments on Mondays and Tuesdays. Non-contact time will be on a Wednesday morning.

DescriptionMoreland Early Years Management Incorporated is looking for an enthusiastic and innovative leader to join our team as a Four-Year-Old Kindergarten Teacher at one of our community-based Centres. This role is for 22.5 hours per week including teaching commitments on Mondays and Tuesdays. Non-contact time will be on a Wednesday morning. The successful person will teach one group of four-year-old children. As an qualified Early Childhood Teacher, this position has responsibility for the planning, delivery and evaluation of a funded 4-year-old Kindergarten program. The successful incumbent should demonstrate expertise, experience and a commitment to the delivery of high quality education and care programs to children and families.

QualificationsEssential requirements: Qualifications suitable for an early childhood teacher under the Education and Care Services National Law, Education and Care Services National Regulations and the DET Kindergarten Funding Guide. A current VIT registration.

Additional RequirementsESSENTIAL SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES: Specialist skills and knowledge Demonstrated strong understanding of contemporary curriculum approaches, specifically a thorough knowledge of the approved curriculum frameworks and how these may be represented In high quality and innovative planning and programming for children. Demonstrated expert knowledge of all legislation governing the operation of children’s services, as well as a solid understanding of the quality areas under the National Quality Standard. Demonstrated expert knowledge of responsibilities of a Nominated Supervisor and experience in ensuring staff are aware of their responsibilities and obligations under the relevant National Laws and Regulations (including Child Safety) and how these relate to the day-to-day management of an early childhood service. Have a thorough understanding of the Early Childhood Australia (ECA) Code of Ethics, Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) Code of Conduct and MEYM’s Code of Conduct and be able to support other staff in their understanding of these Codes. Excellent ability to lead and develop, document and implement a high-quality, inclusive, welcoming and contemporary education program for kindergarten children in consultation with relevant stakeholders.
