Lakeside Packaging We are a leading private company currently recruiting for professional paper & pulp mill operators at our company based at Campbellfield PAPER and PULP MILL OPERATORS RESPONSIBILITIES Operates plant using wood pulp and recovered post-consumer waste to make paper board rolls which are used in the manufacture of cardboard packaging. MAIN DUTIES Activate mill and operating machines and equipment used to manufacture paper and pulp products Adhere to health and safety standards while operating machines, cleaning work areas at the end of the day Arrange and load completed pulp and paper materials for transportation Operate a variety of machines and equipment for processing pulp and other materials, providing routine maintenance and repairs when needed Sort, measure and cut materials to be used in milling operations Transfer processed wood materials to work areas for further processing and finishing Unload trucks and storage of wood and other materials needed for production and setting them in proper location for processing. Manage and maintain the consistency of the pulp throughout the process using valves, pumps, chemicals and filters Consistently test and monitor paper gsm, moisture, cob, ring crush and concorra strength Monitor fabric tracking and changeover fabrics on scheduled shut downs Monitor drying can temperatures and maintain temperature consistencies Monitor size press OTHER INFORMATION To follow and understand OH&S Policies and Procedures Must adhere to the Employers workplace policies, procedures and guidelines Where required provide adequate support and instruction with training to ensure that any person in our workplace has the knowledge and skills required to undertake their work duties safely and in a manner which minimises risks QUALIFICATIONS Must be experienced with paper and pulp operation Must have an AQF Certificate III or equivalent. ESSENTIAL SKILLS Pulp and Paper Mill Operator skills Must be able to operate a variety of machines Must be have attention to detail Must have coordination skills Good organisational skills Good problem solving abilities Excellent time management Be able to use power tools to cut materials as required.
